Although medical care in Romania has improved since joining the Europe Union, there still are needs to meet. Corruption in the medical world is enormous (you pay the doctors “extra” with money, meat or something else) and without additional aid many face the impossibility to get the necessary treatment.
The ‘Medical aid budget’ provides in buying the prescribed medication and paying for urgent surgeries for those who are financially low. Especially long-term treatments often are way too expensive for people living on a retirement income or a social benefit. Talmid non-profit organisation makes up the difference in order to make the full treatment possible.
