Messianic Seal

We have chosen to use the 'Messianic Seal' (Menorah and Fish) as logo for Talmid Ministries. The Seal, as also the Fish, is one of the oldest symbols used by the first Christians. In Jerusalem for example, archaeological excavations have revealed that the Messianic Seal was a widely used symbol to represent the first Christian church.

The melting together of the Menorah and the Fish tells us a lot about the composition of Gods people. The Fish represents the gentile believers, the Menorah represents the Jewish followers of Yeshua (Jesus).

The Magen David (shield of David, six point star) formed by the foot of the Menorah and the tail of the Fish is the key to unlock the meaning of the symbol. The triangular foot of the Menorah represents Father, Son and Holy Spirit; fully God. The triangular tail of the Fish represents body, soul and spirit; fully man. Only one Person unites both: Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus the Christ. He unites the Church and Israel to one people, one flock under one Shepherd.

'Talmid' is a Hebrew word and is translated as 'Disciple'. Talmid Ministries has the goal to meet the needs of the poorest Romanian and Roma families, and thus show them, first through deeds, the Good News of Jesus. We want to respond, as good as we can, to the Great Commission:

“Go and make talmidim (disciples) of all nations (ethnic groups), immersing them into the Reality of God and teach them to obey My Torah (instructions, teachings)” (Matt.28:19 – my translation).
